Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services
Lighthouse Laboratory

The new BSPS Lighthouse Laboratory is now testing COVID-19 swabs as part of the national testing effort to help tackle the coronavirus.

The new NHS laboratory, which is commissioned by NHS Test and Trace, uses state-of-the-art equipment to provide accurate testing at scale. More than 350 scientists and support staff have already been recruited to provide a 24/7 testing service at our new laboratory, enabling us to process tens of thousands of tests a day. Staff training and induction is being provided in partnership with the world-renowned virology experts at The Pirbright Institute. Find out how to join the team here.

NHS Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services (BSPS) is one of the largest NHS pathology networks in the country. The BSPS Lighthouse Laboratory will test swabs from the general public. At BSPS we have significant expertise in diagnostic testing and have been testing swabs from NHS staff and patients since Spring 2020.

Members of the public can find out more information and book a test here.
